SRINAGAR, Aug 27: Police arrested two of sisters and their brother for allegedly killing their sister in the Budgam district.
A police spokesman said that on August 24 police received an information that a female dead body aged 18-20 yrs was spotted by the locals in the out fields of Sholipora-Budgam. The body was identified as that of Zubeida daughter of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Dar resident of Pasroo-Sholipora. The body bore visible injury marks in the neck and if was shifted to the hospital for postmortem.
A case FIR No. 248 under Section 302 was registered in police station Budgam. During the course of investigation police took the body in its possession and the post mortem was conducted by team of doctors in District Hospital Budgam and thereafter it was handed over to her legal hairs for last rites.
‘During investigations Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, the brother of the deceased was brought for questioning. Mushtaq disclosed that he and his two other sisters namely Nasreen and Misra were not satisfied with the behaviour/character of their sister (deceased) and they decided to eliminate her,” said the police spokesman.
Nasreen and Misra took Zubeida to the fields of Sarthpora village and strangulated her with her scarf she was wearing.
All the three accused have been arrested and the investigation of the case is going on and arrest of other suspects is also expected. Police is also probing on the other aspects which include grabbing of ex-gratia money belonging to the deceased that she had got from Government in SRO case lying in bank account a police spokesman said.
