JAMMU, Dec 26: Son of a Kargil martyr and a doctor was among three youths of Akhnoor who died in a road accident at Nurpur in Himachal Pradesh late last night.
According to the reports, the accident took place at Bahali in Himachal Pradesh when a Swift car bearing Jammu number, which was on its way to Nurpur from Jammu, fell into a deep gorge apparently due to foggy weather.
In the deadly mishap, three youths died on the spot while one got serious injuries.
The deceased have been identified as Dr Rohan Sharma, son of Sat Pal Sharma, Rishu Gupta son of Babu Gupta and Sandeep Bahu son of Daler Singh Bahu, all residents of Akhnoor.
Dr Rohan Sharma was presently working at Akhnoor Hospital under NRHM and he was going to be married in February next year. Sandeep Bahu was the son of a Kargil martyr, Daler Singh Bahu.
In the accident, Pawan Kumar of Akhnoor suffered serious injuries.
On getting information regarding the mishap, MLA Akhnoor, Rajeev Sharma immediately responded and left for Himachal Pradesh. On his personal intervention, the local police of the area responded quickly and retrieved the bodies from the gorge.
The critical injured, Pawan Kumar was shifted to a hospital in Amritsar while the body of the three deceased youths were shifted to a Government Hospital in Himachal Pradesh for post mortem.
