KISHTWAR, Dec 26: 6th Police Martyrs Memorial (T-20) Cricket Tournament concluded at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar, today.
The tournament was held by District Police Kishtwar under Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2014-15. The final match was played between Youth Sarkoot and Kishtwar Warriors. Elected to bat, Youth Sarkoot could score 78 runs in 17 overs. Sohail Sheikh scored 27 runs for Sarkoot Eleven and Burhan Qazi took three wickets for Kishtwar Warriors whereas Kishtwar Wariors chased the target by Lossing eight wickets, thereby Kishtwar Warriors won the match.
Burhan Qazi of Kishtwar Warriors was declared man of the match whereas Henan Malik of Kishtwar Warriors was declared as Man of the Series. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohd Javed Khan, KAS was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes on the occasion.
The function was presided over by SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas and was among others attended by CO 08 RR Shri Rakesh Kumar Mishra, CO 52 Bn CRPF Mukesh Tiyagi, ACR Kishtwar Sudarshan Kumar and other officers of civil administration and District Police Kishtwar.
Deputy Commissioner and SP Kishtwar spoke on the occasion and deliberated upon utility of conduct of these programmes by J&K Police under Civic Action Programme. Large number of people witnessed the final event and appreciated the efforts of District Police Kishtwar in this regard.
