3rd Christmas T20 Cup commencing today

JAMMU, Dec 26: 3rd Christmas Twenty-20 Cricket Cup for College students and other cricketers will commence at Parade Ground, here from tomorrow.
According to the organizers the objective of the tournament is to help youths to shun drugs and not to derail from the mainstream, apart from promoting sports in general and cricket in particular in the State.
The Slogan of the tournament is “Be Healthy-Don’t Do Drugs”.
The tournament is being organized jointly by Christian Sports Organization, J&K Police and Parade Sports Association, under the supervision of Shakeel Beig, DIG Jammu and Fr Kuriakose, Chairman Christian Sports Organization, J&K.
The Organizing Committee of the tournament includes Shakeel Beig DIG Jammu; Fr. Kuriakose Chairman CSO; SR Mishra AIG CIV; Hilal Rather MD Simula; Sanjeev Khajuria SSP Principal PTS Kathua; Pawan Parihar SSP Kathua; Ashok Sharma SO to IG Jammu; Rajnish Pran SO to DIG Jammu; Parshotam Sharma DDP RPHQ; Nicodemus Advisor CSO; Victor Sotra vice president CSO; Asif Gill joint secretary CSO; Vijay Saberwal president Parade Sports Organization; Anil Mahajan general secretary Parade Sports Association; David Mattoo Incharge Conduct Committee; William Mattoo Sports Secretary CSO and the officiating committee includes Rajesh Dhar, Sunil Sambyal, RP Singh, Sudhir Singh, Sadiq Hussain, Suhail Yusuf, Sandeep Manchanda, Nitu Khokher, Vinod Kandyara, Abhijot Singh, Yogesh Sharma and Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy player and Chief Prosecuting Officer, organizing secretary of the tournament.
According to a handout issued today, 24 teams are participating in this tournament which includes MAM College Jammu, PG Law & Sciences, Commerce College Jammu, Krishna Cricket Club, Sarveshwar Cricket Club, Strikers Cricket Club, ICC Jammu, Eleven Star, JKP XI , Samar Cricket Club, Trikuta Club, Patel Club, Youth Club Bhaderwah, Oriental Cricket Club, Jammu University XI, Christian Sports XI, Science College XI , Country Cricket Academy , United Blues, Simula XI, RCC Srinagar , KC Sports XI, Tanishta XI and Romi Cricket Club.
“The opening matches will be played between MAM College and PG Law & Sciences, University of Jammu at 9.30 am and Sarveshwar Cricket Club and Krishna Cricket Club at 12.30 pm,” informed Mr Gill.
