POONCH, Oct 22: The police recovered 3.2 Kg of heroin from Basooni area of Mendhar sub division during last night.
Official sources said that on the basis of a specific information about the dealing of narcotics between unknown persons in Basooni area, in the intervening night of Oct 21/22, SDPO Mendhar, Zaheer Abbas Jafri along with police party from Mendhar Police Station launched searches in the area.
During search, they recovered narcotics (heroin) in three packets, weighing 3.2 kg. In this regard a case FIR No. 247/2020 at Police Station Mendhar has been lodged and investigation is going on to trace its linkages. The drug peddlers, however, escaped, the police said.
