JAMMU, Oct 22: Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Chander Mohan Gupta today inaugurated an open gym with requisite number of equipment at park number EP 01 situated in Sec-E Sainik Colony and a water cooler at main market of Sec-E, Sainik Colony, Jammu.
Chander Mohan Gupta also kick started construction work of pathway for morning/evening walkers in park number EP -11 situated in Sec-E, Sainik Colony Jammu. Narinder Singh, Councilor of the Ward Number 70, was also accompanying the Mayor. Besides this, Mayor along with the Councilor inaugurated a well furnished coffee house namely M/s Sharma Coffee House located opposite to Guru Nanak Medicos at Sec -D, Sainik Colony, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that JMC has already taken up the job of commissioning open gyms along with installing requisite number of equipments related to it, installing of water coolers with purifiers in every ward of the city for the welfare and convenience of the general public so that they can take full benefit of these facilities.
Earlier, both the Mayor and the Councilor met with the residents of several sectors of the Colony and listened to their issues in terms of basic civic amenities. Inhabitants of the Colony highlighted various issues like sanitation, development of different parks with modern facilities, renovation/ construction of leftover drains/lanes, rectification of LED street lights and their installation in the remaining areas, lifting of stray dogs/animals on routine basis, etc.
The Mayor gave patient hearing to the inhabitants and assured that all their genuine issues will be taken up on priority basis.
