29th National Road Safety Week begins across State

JAMMU, Apr 23: 29th National Road Safety Week begins across the State. The theme for 29th National Road Security Week is ‘Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Suraksha’.
JAMMU: Minister of State for Transport Sunil Kumar Sharma inaugurated 29th National Road Safety Week at Gulshan Ground here in presence of Transport Commissioner J&K, Saughat Biswas.
The Minister, later, flagged off the rally from Gulshan Ground and participated in it along with officers of the Motor Vehicles Department, Traffic Police Department, School Education Department which passed through police Headquarter Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Green Belt Park and culminated at Green Field, Gandhi Nagar. More than 1000 students from different schools participated in the rally.

Deep Raj, RTO Jammu, SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta, SSP Traffic, Jammu Joginder Singh, MDSRTC Mir Afroz; Director, Garages Zakir Chowdhary,  Additional Transport Commissioner Mohinder Singh, Joint Transport Commissioner Vikas Sharma, , Juhi, Radio Jockey from 92.7 Big FM and many others were present on the occasion.
SAMBA: A rally to commemorate Road Safety Week was organized from Government Degree College Samba to Kehli Mandi ground. The rally was organized by ARTO SAMBA and flagged off by DC Samba Rajinder Singh Tara. Students of various institutes participated in the rally. The rally was held under the guidance of Gulshan Sharma and Colonel Raj Mohan Singh.
KATHUA: Motor Vehicle Department organized a bike rally to celebrate Road Safety week which was flagged off by District Development Commissioner Kathua Rohit Khajuria from RTO Office Kathua.
RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tariq Hussain Ganai today flagged off awareness rally of students organized by Motor Vehicle Department in connection with ongoing 29th Road Safety Week celebrations at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) here. ARTO Ramban Mohammad Saleem, DySP Traffic Rakesh Gupta, DySP Headquarters Tussif Ahmed, Principal of host school and other school staff besides staff of MVD were present on the occasion.
RAJOURI: 29th Road safety week started here. During the week, multiple programmes have been planned. The celebration beings with flagging off students awareness rally organized by Motor Vehicles Department in collaboration with Education Department and Police. DC Dr Shahid Iqbal alongwith SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas flagged off this awareness rally in presence of ARTO Rajouri, Neeraj Sharma, District Information Officer Mohammad Shafait, MVD Inspectors Ranjeev Bhasin and Aslam Pervaiz and several other officials.
UDHAMPUR: MVD in collaboration with traffic police, Education and other line departments organized an awareness rally highlighting the various road safety measures, which was flagged off by DDC Ravinder Kumar. Around 2000 students from 25 different government as well as private educational institutions participated in the rally.
KISHTWAR: DDC Angrez Singh Rana in presence of SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhry flagged off a rally from DC Office. The rally started from the DC office complex to Bus stand via Dak Bunglow.
DODA: 29th Road Safety Week started with a rally, which was flagged off by ADDC Doda Mohammad Hanief Malik.
POONCH: DDC flagged off “Helmet Rally” to spread awareness among the masses about mandatory use of helmets while riding two-wheelers. The rally, which started from DC Office Complex and culminated at Sports Stadium Poonch, witnessed the participation of youth and elders hailing from all sections of the society. SSP Traffic (Rural), Mushtaq Choudhary, ADC Poonch Dr Basharat, ASP Poonch and ACR Poonch were also present on the occasion.
REASI: Motor Vehicle Department Reasi organized the 29th Road Safety Week in which SSP Tahir Sajad bhat was the chief guest. A rally was also taken out in city to aware masses.
SRINAGAR: Regional Transport Office Kashmir organized an awareness rally which was flagged-off by RTO Kashmir Khurshid Ahmad Shah. Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Riyaz Ahmad Wani and SSP Traffic Tahir Gilani were also present on the occasion.
BARAMULLA: DC Dr Nassir Ahmad Naqash flagged off a road show organized by Motor Vehicles Department which marked the overwhelming response of transporters and other sections of the society. ADC Farooq Ahmad Baba, ARTO Baramulla Noor-ud-Din Andrabi, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, representatives of traders’ union and civil society members were present on the occasion.
BUDGAM: The week commenced with Road Safety Awareness rally organized by ARTO. The rally was flagged-off by CPO Budgam, Abdul Rasheed in presence of ARTO Budgam, DySP Traffic Rural and DySP Headquarters.
PULWAMA: Additional Deputy Commissioner Showkat Ahmad Rather kick-started the safety week by flagging-off a rally to spread awareness among the people regarding traffic rules. The rally was organized by the ARTO under the aegis of Motor Vehicle Department in which a number of bike riders and sumo vehicle drivers participated.
BANDIPORA: MLA Usmaan Majid flagged-off a rally from Mini Secretariat comprising 200 students. The rally organized by Motor Vehicle Department passed through various markets of Bandipora town to create awareness among masses about the road safety measures. District Development Commissioner Khursheed Ahmad Sanai, SSP Bandipora Sheik Zulfiqar Azad, officials of MVD and other concerned were present.
KULGAM: DC Sajad Hussain inaugurated the road safety week organized by Motor Vehicles Department. DC flagged- off a bike rally from Mini Secretariat here comprising around 200 bikers from different parts of the district. ADC, ARTO, DySP Headquarters, other officials of different departments and representatives of transport unions and police functionaries were also present.
ANANTNAG: 29th road safety week was organized by the Motor Vehicle Department in collaboration with Traffic Police with the flagging-off a bike rally by ARTO Anantnag. Among others, DySP Traffic Anantnag, Inspectors of the Motor Vehicle Department and other concerned were present on the occasion.
SHOPIAN: To stimulate community involvement in promoting Road Safety Awareness and to disseminate information about traffic rules, Motor Vehicle Department organized the 29th road safety week in which DC Gazanfar Ali was the chief guest. ADC Parvaiz Sajad Ganie, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Sheep Husbandry Officer, besides senior citizens, drivers, transporters and student of various educational institutions and other concerned were present on the occasion.
KARGIL: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan inaugurated 29th road safety week celebrations by flagging-off awareness rally at Tourist Facilitation Center (TFC) here. DC Haji Gulzar Hussain, SP Tsering Gylapo, Additional SP Arun Gupta, ADC Imteeaz Kacho, ARTO Haji Muhammad Baqir and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
