28 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, July 9: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 28 numbers of cattle besides arresting two accused persons, who were smuggling the animals in a truck.
The truck, bearing registration numbers HR55H-3120 was intercepted at Thard by a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Insp Vijay Singh Choudhary, under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch, Incharge SSP Udhampur and Dr Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs Udhampur.
During search, 28 bovine animals were found loaded in the truck without any valid permission. All the 28 bovine animals were rescued and the truck driver as well as his associate were arrested on the spot. The arrested accused were identified as Sukhwinder Singh, son of Tersem Singh of Amritsar and Amandeep Singh, son of Major Singh of Rajpura, Amritsar.
In this connection, case under relevant section of law has been registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
