KATHUA, June 17: District police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R.C Kotwal, while acting tough against drug peddlers and its propagators in the district, today apprehended one drug peddler near Ramkot area and recovered 25Kg’s of Poppy straw like contraband from him and seized the vehicle also.
Police said today team led by Inspector, Gurvinder Singh incharge Police Post (PP) Ramkot under the supervision of SDPO Billawar, Arvind Kumar while on naka checking duty near Ramkot intercepted one suspicious vehicle (Mahindra load carrier) without any registration number. On through checking, approximately 25 Kgs of Poppy straw was recovered from the possession of the driver namely Bishan Dass, son of Mulkh Raj of Tharakalwal. Meanwhile police seized the recovered material and arrested the person involved. A case FIR No 94/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Billawar and started further investigation into the case.
