KATHUA, Sept 16: Kathua Forest Division has seized 24 cartoons containing 300 kgs of non biodegradable plastic disposable glasses at Anti Polythene Checkpost Lakhanpur today.
This was stated in a handout issued by Kathua Forest Division. It said a joint team of Anti- Polythene Check Post Lakhanpur, Kathua Forest Division seized 24 Cartoons/ 300kgs of Non-biodegradable, single use plastic disposable glasses found unclaimed from public transport coming from outside the State.
Seizure of the Disposable items was made as per the SRO 231 dated 26.03.2019 read with the Section 6 of JK Non- Bio readable Management, Handling and Disposal Act, 2007 and provisions of JK Non-Biodegradable Management, Handling and Disposal Rule, 2007, the handout said.
It said confiscation proceedings are initiated before the Authorized Officer Regional Director Jammu JKSPCB as envisaged in the Rule 10 of the JK Non-biodegradable Management, Handling and Disposal Rules, 2007.
