JAMMU, May 12: On the directions of the District Development Commissioner Reasi Sheetal Nanda, a team of Legal Metrology Department inspected the various Hotels, Restaurants and Dhabas at Katra and seized 23 domestic LPG cylinders being used for commercial purpose. All the seized cylinders were handed over to the concerned oil companies for further legal action.
Prominent Hotels and Restaurants from where LPG cylinders were seized includes Hotel Asia, Hotel Jolly Plaza, Hotel Satya Shree Vaishno Devi, Devi Restaurant, Sharma Bhojanalya, Kisan Bhojanalya.
Legal Metrology team also booked Hotel Country Inn at Karyal, Katra for violation of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement Act 1997 and a composition of Rupees 5000 was recovered from them on spot. One dry fruit and toys shop inside the Hotel Country Inn was also booked for violation of package commodities rules i.e for not displaying MRP, PKD, Net contents and complete address on the packages and a composition of Rs. 3000 was recovered from the defaulters on spot.
