JAMMU, Feb 24: Akhnoor police today launched a special anti traffic violation drive in the town and challaned 213 people for violation of traffic rules.
“Challans were done for various violations primarily the visible violations like triple ridding, driving without helmet, using cell phone while driving and not wearing seatbelts,” a police spokesman said. He said the police team also seized 57 vehicles (including two-wheelers and 4-wheelers), which is highest so far in a single day.
The police team was led by SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma and SHO Akhnoor Pradeep Sharma. The SDPO Akhnoor said that such drives will continue in future also. He appealed the masses to follow traffic laws and be a partner in saving lives.
