21 candidates selected for MBBS in GMCs

Srinagar, Mar 19: Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) has re-drawn merit list of Common Entrance Test-2012 (CET-2012) to adjust 21 candidates in Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and Jammu in MBBS course to fill the vacancies created by cancellation of admission of 21 students who had sought it fraudulently.
Twenty one seats of MBBS course fell vacant in GMC Srinagar and Jammu following de-seating of these candidates of CET-2012 who were indicted by the Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police for securing admission in MBBS course fraudulently.
BOPEE in order to fill 21 vacant seats in GMC Srinagar and Jammu has selected four boys and equal number of girls for admission to MBBS course. A notification (Vide No. 14 BOPEE of 2014 dated 18-03-2014) issued by the BOPEE has sought consent for admission from these eight candidates by or before March 25 this year. All these candidates are pursuing their MBBS in ASCOMS.
The candidates who are to be considered for admission in GMC Srinagar and Jammu are: Manmeet Singh son of Satpal Singh, Puneet Singh son of Joginder Singh, Tapan Sharma son of Bal Krishan Sharma and Gagandeep Singh son of Amrik Singh.
The candidates who are to be considered for admission in GMC Srinagar are: Amira Gul Bhat daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Jeevita Raina daughter of Sudesh Raina, Munaza Yaqoob daughter of Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat and Tabeer Shoib daughter of Dr Shoib Ahmad Kamil.
The other 13 candidates who are figuring in the re-drawn merit list are either pursuing non-MBBS courses like BVSc and BDS or are not pursuing any course in the relevant field. BOPEE has decided to admit these candidates in Session-2014 in GMC Srinagar over and above the intake capacity subject to the approval by Medical Council of India and the State Government. The notification regarding admission of these 13 candidates are being issued next week.
These candidates who are to be considered for admission to MBBS in GMC Srinagar for Session 2014 are: Abinov Chanda son of Tilak Raj, Ifikhar Ahmad son of Mohammad Yunis, Rasiq Mansoor son of Mohammad Mansoor, Shahid Shabir Mir son of Shabir Ahmad Mir, Iftikhar Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Gaffar Malik, Syed Muzamil Mehraj son of Syed Mehrajudin, Sarim Sayed Turay son of Mohammad Sayeed Turay, Safir Ahmad Ganiee son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganiee, Abdullah Nazir Hakak son of Nazir Ahmad Hakak, Shivindu Charak daughter of Jai Singh, Rohima Mahajan daughter of Vinod Gupta, Isbah Afrooz daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Mir and Abha Heer daughter of Babu Ram.
Out of these 13 selected candidates Itikhar Ahmad is pursuing BDS in Government Dental College Srinagar, Shahid Shabir is pursuing BVSc in SKUAST-R, Itikhar Ahmad Malik is pursuing BDS in GDC Srinagar, Syed Muzamil is pursuing BDS in GDC Srinagar, Sarim Turay is pursuing BDS in GDC Srinagar, Safir Ahmad Ganiee is pursuing BVSc in SKUAST-J, Rohima Mahajan is pursuing BDS in GDC Srinagar, Isbah Afroz is pursuing BDS in GDC Srinagar and Abha Heer is pursuing BDS in GDC Srinagar.
The BOPEE experts have decided that students who are pursuing BDS can’t be provided admission to MBBS second year. So the candidates perusing BDS and have been selected in re-drawn merit of CET-2012 are being considered for session-2014 subject to the clearance by MCI and State Government.
In the redrawn CET-2012 merit list, the BOPEE has not included the candidates who are already pursuing MBBS in Medical College SKIMS and GMC, Jammu so as to avoid discontinuity or disturbances in their course of study.
