21 candidates file nominations in Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar seats

JAMMU, Nov 5:
On the last date of the filing of nominations for the first phase of the Assembly polls in J&K, 21 candidates today filed their papers from Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar constituencies of Jammu region.
These seats will got to polls on November 25.
In Ramban, BJP candidate Neelam Langeh was accompanied by MoS in the PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, BJP MP and party in-change for State Avinash Rai Khanna and party MP from Jammu and the state president of the party Jugal Kishore Sharma.
In Doda, sitting Congress MLA Abdul Majid Wani was accompanied by senior Congress leader and former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
In Ramban, BJP leader Girdhari Lal who had embarrassed the party by filing nomination papers meant for another candidate under his name today filed his nomination as an Independent candidate.
“Today seven candidates filed their nomination papers for Doda Assembly constituency and seven for Bhaderwah Assembly seat. Seven others filed nominations for Ramban constituency today,” an official said.
“In total we got 14 nomination papers for Doda, 14 for Bhaderwah and ten for Ramban Assembly constituency,” the official said.
He said that the date for the scrutiny of the nomination papers was November 7, while the last date for the withdrawal of nomination is November 10. (AGENCIES)
