21 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Nov 25: Foiling two separate attempts of bovine smuggling, Police rescued 21 animals and arrested two accused smugglers at Tikri, here today.
17 bovine animals were being smuggled in a truck while four others were loaded in a load carrier.
The truck, bearing registration number JK02AS- 798, was intercepted by a police party, led by SI Jaswinder Singh, In-charge Police Post Tikri. During search, 17 bovine animals were found loaded in the truck without any valid permission. Driver of the truck, identified as Arshad, son of Liaqat of Saharanpur, was arrested on the spot.
In another success, PP Tikri rescued four bovine animals, which were being smuggled in a load carrier (JK02CF- 9846). Driver of the vehicle, identified as Moh Latif, son of Mohd Qasim of Chadaii, Dansal was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, case FIR number 200/2020, under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act and FIR 201/2020, U/S 188 IPC, 11 PC Act, have been registered at Police station Rehambal.
