2024 Lok Sabha polls will mark dawn of Rahul Gandhi era: Tony

SUCHETGARH, Mar 1: Taranjit Singh Tony, General Secretary of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee and DDC member Suchetgarh, strongly criticized the BJP Government at the Centre for its failure to meet the expectations of the people of the country. He emphasized the Government’s inability to provide basic amenities to the general public, which he described as a severe failure.
Interacting with prominent people of Miran Sahib area falling in Suchetgarh constituency, the senior Congress leader expressed deep concern over the rising levels of corruption, unemployment, inflation, and an alarming increase in crime rates, terrorism, and drug addiction under the Modi Government. He termed these issues as the biggest achievements of the Modi Govt, which fall short of the promises made to the citizens.
Looking ahead to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Tony believed that it is time for a new era in Indian politics. He boldly stated that the upcoming elections will not only mark the end of the Modi era but also herald the dawn of the Rahul Gandhi era. Expressing unwavering confidence in Rahul Gandhi’s capabilities, he firmly believed that he embodies the qualities necessary to lead the nation as the Prime Minister. He emphasized that Rahul Gandhi’s vision resonates with the aspirations of millions of Indians, especially the youth and marginalized sections of society.
In addition, Tony urged for simultaneous Assembly elections to be held alongside the upcoming Parliament elections in the country. He emphasized the importance of giving the citizens opportunity to elect their representatives at both the state and national levels simultaneously.
Furthermore, the senior Congress leader called for the restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before holding Assembly polls in the region. He believed that this step is crucial in ensuring a democratic process and representation for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
