SRINAGAR : Only one Kashmiri crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) while 20 residents of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition.
Meanwhile, 76 returnees also cross sides at Kaman post,  the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC, in Uri sector in north Kashmir, official sources said here today.    They said only one Kashmiri resident crossed over to PoK  in the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of PoK.
However, 67 PoK residents, including 24 women and 22 children, who had arrived here in previous buses returned to their homes after completing stay in Kashmir.    They said 20 PoK residents arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot to meet their relatives here. They included 11 women and five children.    Sources said nine Kashmiri, who had crossed over to other side of the LoC returned to their homes. They included five women, sources said.
The bus service, introduced on April 7, 2005, has helped thousands of families, divided in 1947 to meet each other after India and Pakistan agreed to allow travel of people living on both sides of the LoC on ‘ Travel Permits’ instead of International passport.
However, travel permit was being issued to a person only after his or her name is cleared by intelligence agencies of both the countries.
