20 bovine animals rescued, 4 accused arrested

UDHAMPUR, Oct 27: Udhampur Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 20 animals by intercepting two vehicles at Roun Domail, here today.
Based on reliable information, Police party of Police Post  Roun Domail,  led by SI Khyatimann Khajuria,  under the supervision of Kameshwar Puri,  Dy SP Hqrs Udhampur,  led a naka for checking of vehicles and  intercepted one truck and one  Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02AQ- 5733 and JKO2AW-1806.
During the search, 20 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in these vehicles. The accused persons namely Ashiq Ali son of Abdul Rashid of Panasa Reasi (truck driver),  Mushtaq Ahmed,  son of Bashir Ahmed of Upper Thanoa RS Pura,    Shakeel Ahmed and  Altaf,  both sons of Mansha Gujjar of Jagti  Jammu,  were arrested on the spot. All 20 bovine animals were rescued and both the vehicles were also seized.
In this connection, case FIR No. 500/2017  and 501/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
