UDHAMPUR, Nov 23: In separate cases, two young housewives attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at Chenani, here today.
According to the police reports, Makhnu Devi (27), wife of Kaku Ram of Chenani, consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at the house of her in-laws. Family members shifted her to SDH Chenani where she was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of her serious condition.
In the similar case, Manisha Devi (31), wife of Jagdev Singh of Chenani, also consumed poisonous substance and fell unconscious at her house. She was also rushed to Sub District Hospital Chenani and then referred to GMC Hospital Jammu.
Cause behind provocation in both the cases could not be ascertained while Police has registered the cases for further investigation.
