KATRA, Nov 26: A 2-week long workshop on Engineering Mechanics by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in collaboration with IIT Bombay, began here today.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dean, College of Engineering Prof V Verma, who emphasized the need for organising such workshops in which the teachers can further enhance their skills by continuous interaction with experts in the relevant areas of Engineering and Technology.
Prof Verma also appreciated the initiative taken by the School of Mechanical Engineering SMVDU in organising such type of workshops that will benefit the faculty and the students at large in their conventional class room teaching-learning process.
Balbir Singh, Director School of Mechanical Engineering carried out the proceedings of the inaugural session.
The Coordinator of the workshop, Sanjay Mohan Sharma, Asstt Prof in School of Mechanical Engineering, gave a detailed overview of this 2 week workshop in which various concepts about Engineering Mechanics and its applications are being discussed. Faculty from Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management and Architecture is attend this workshop, which is being held under the National Mission of MHRD.
