2 theft cases worked out

UDHAMPUR, Apr 22: Udhampur Police have worked out two theft cases and recovered the stolen items, which include cash and jewellery.
According to police, cash of Rs 95,512 along with bank drafts amounting to Rs 21,948 were recovered from Farooq Khan of Gujad Chenani who had stolen it on April 21 from India Kids School Omara Morh, Udhampur. The stolen cash and bank drafts were the fee collected from students and kept in a box at the school.
Meanwhile, Panchari Police recovered jewellery worth Rs 70,000 owned by Dhani Ram, son of Mir Chand of Meer Panchari. Dhani Ram and his family were displaced after landslides at Chubu Nallah and he had kept his belongings at some other house where the jewellery and cash of Rs 6000 were stolen.
As one theft case has already been worked out in Police Station Rehmbal, Udhampur Police has been successful in solving three theft cases within a period of just one week and effecting recoveries of cash and property worth Rs 2.5 lakh.
