UDHAMPUR, May 4: Local villagers and students of Government High School Sadhota in Panchari today held a strong protest against staff shortage in the school, which is being run by only two teachers without Headmaster notwithstanding 110 students.
The protesting villagers, led by Kartar Singh, Sarpanch of Panchayat Halqa Sadhota and students, raised slogans against the School Education authorities for their failure to provide adequate teaching staff in the school, which was upgraded from Middle to High School without required teachers.
“The School Education Department provided two teachers for ten classes in this high school and a Third teacher (Master Grade) who was also appointed here two years back, didn’t join and remain attached to another school at Battal Balian Udhampur despite the fact that matter was brought into the notice of CEO and others,” the villagers said asking how can two teachers complete the syllabus?
There are over 33 students in Class 9th, whose term one exam will start in the first week of June, they added.
According to Tara Chand, ZEO Panchari, the CEO Udhampur had recently ordered cancellation of all the attachments and the issue of this school would be addressed very soon.
