2 stolen vehicles recovered

SAMBA, Feb 13: Samba police has recovered two vehicles in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal, which were stolen from District Gurdaspur (Punjab) and were being used by the bovine smugglers for illegal transportation of bovines from Punjab towards Valley.
A police party of PS Ghagwal during Naka checking today seized a Mahindra vehicle having Registration Number PB10F-4279 under FIR No. 09/2021 U/S 188 IPC which was being used for bovine smuggling from Punjab towards Valley.
During investigation, it surfaced that the seized vehicle was a stolen vehicle whose FIR under relevant sections had been registered in a Police Station of District, Gurdaspur (Punjab).
Similarly, on 15.01.2021 police team of PS Ghagwal in another incident of bovine smuggling, seized vehicle without Registration Number loaded with bovines under FIR No. 10/2021 U/S 188 IPC. The vehicle was also found as a stolen vehicle from Gurdarpur district of Punjab.
Samba police has unearthed the modus operandi used by the bovine smugglers to carry out their smuggling activities in stolen vehicles.
