KATHUA, Apr 21: Police here today under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Mohita Sharma recovered about 9.7 grams of Heroin like narcotics substance from the jurisdictional area of Police Post Ramkot and arrested two narco smugglers.
Acting on the input received through reliable source, cops led by IC PP Ramkot under the supervision of SP Ops Upper Kathua, SDPO Billawar and SHO Police Station Billawar laid a special Naka at Galak area and apprehended two persons from Dinga Amb side towards Galak.
They were identified as Abhishek Singh, son of Tirlochan Singh, resident of Makwal Chinji, Tehsil Ramkot, District Kathua and Maskeen Ali alias Tikku, son of Sheru, resident of Galak, Tehsil Ramkot, Kathua.
During checking about 3.08 gram heroin like substance was recovered from Abhishek Singh and about 6.62 gram heroin like substance was recovered from Maskeen Ali.
The recovered contraband was seized and the accused persons were arrested.
An FIR with number 74/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29/NDPS Act, was registered in this regard at Police Station Billawar and investigation started.
