KATHUA, Sept 25: Two persons were killed and a minor girl was seriously injured when a car in which they were traveling rolled down into 100 feet gorge at Jandarli , in Basholi tehsil of Kathua district today .
The seriously injured girl identified as Pratiksha ,8, daughter of Vijay Singh resident of Sandhar , Basholi is under treatment at Basholi Sub District Hospital. As per police reports, the accident took place when ill fated I10 Car bearing Registration Number JK08H 7881 was on the way from Sandhar to Bhoond. The driver lost the control on car and it rolled down into 100 feet deep gorge at Jandrali near BDO Office.
The local people started rescue operations and evacuated them to PHC. But two persons including the car driver and a woman were declared dead and a minor girl was seriously injured.
The deceased were identified as Som Singh, 55, son of Rattan Singh resident of Sandhar and Darshno Devi, 50, wife of Judu resident of Sialag,Bani. A police team from Basholi also reached at Jandarli and started investigation. Police also registered a case under relevant sections of the law. The dead bodies will be handed over to families after completion of all legal formalities by the police for last rites.
