RAJOURI, May 5: Two persons died and six others were injured in two separate road accidents, here today.
One person died and five others were injured when a tempo on way from Kashmir Valley towards Kotranka, met with road accident at Kotranka on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday.
According to the information received from the police, Tempo Traveler number JK11A-1941 fell into deep gorge around one km from Kotranka around 1.30 am resulting into on the spot death of one person. The deceased was identified as Abdul Shakur, 36, a resident of Samot Falni, Budhal.
The other injured were identified as Shakeel Ahmed, resident of Mandir Gala, Mohammad Yaqoob, resident of Daraz, Mohammad Sikandar resident of Shopia Kashmir, Lal Din resident of Daraz. After first aid at Kotranka hospital, they were shifted to GMC Rajouri for further treatment.
In another road accident at Thalka on Jammu-Rajouri highway, a Maruti Eco car rolled down resulting into death of its driver and injuries to another person traveling in the car.
The car bearing registration number JK11E-3029 was on its way from Jammu to Rajouri when it skidded off the road and turned turtle resulting into death of its driver Zabeer Ahmed (20), son of Mohd Akram, resident of Rajouri.
The other person, namely Wajid Hussain Shah (25), son of Farzan Hussain Shah got minor injuries in the accident and was hospitalized.
Meanwhile, reports from Poonch said that one motorcyclist was critically injured when his bike skidded off the road near Chinara Loran area of Mandi.
The motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BJ- 5540 was on its way from Loran side towards Lohilbella Mandi, when it met with accident, resulting into serious injuries to Mumtaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed of Lohil Bella of Loran. He was taken to SDH Mandi from where doctors referred him to DH Poonch.
