2 killed, 4 injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Dec 15: Two persons were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in different parts of Jammu region.
According to a police spokesperson, two motorcycle borne youths were hit by a truck late last night on Jammu-Akhnoor road at Domana near Karan Palace, when they were on their way back to home at Govindpura in Chatha area of Satwari from Mishriwala.
In the accident, bike rider identified as Arjun Singh (21), son of Raghubir Singh, of Govindpura in Chatha and pillion rider received serious injuries while his pillion rider, Balwinder Singh, son of Karan Singh of Govindpura suffered minor injuries. Both injured youths were immediately shifted by flying squad of police to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where Arjun Singh, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The condition of other injured person is stated to be stable.
After conducting postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members for last rites. Domana police has registered a case in this regard and arrested the accused truck driver. The truck bearing registration No JK02AQ-7525 which caused the accident has also been seized while the further investigations in the case are going on.
A fifty years old person namely Balwan Singh (50) son of Tridhu Singh, resident of Kheri (Hiranagar), who was on his way back to home on its motorbike, was hit by a Nano car bearing registration No JK08C-0629 near Dayalachak in Kathua district, this evening. In serious condition he was rushed to GMCH Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries.
In another accident, a truck hit an electric pole at Trikuta Nagar. In the mishap the conductor of the truck, Mohd Tarish (17) son of Mohd Kamaal of Trikuta Nagar received minor injuries. He was shifted to GMCH for treatment.
A three and half years old kid namely Daman son of Dilip, a resident of Talab Tillo, also suffered injuries when he was hit by an unknown vehicle while crossing a road near his residence. He was also shifted to GMCH.
A 8 years old boy namely Nandni son of Roshan Lal, a resident of Kalka Colony (Bagh-e-Bahu), also hit and left injured by an unknown vehicle at Kalka Colony. He was also shifted to GMCH for treatment.
In a hit and run case, a 26 years old youth namely Kamal Kishore son of Surpal Sharma of Samba was also left injured by an unknown vehicle at Samba, late last night. He was immediately shifted to district hospital Samba, from where later he was shifted to GMCH for treatment.
