DODA, Apr 29: Two persons were killed, while three others received critical injuries when the Tata Sumo they were traveling in, skidded-off the road and plunged into deep gorge near Chilli-Pingal in Bhalessa area this morning.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK06 -5824 was on its way from Malik Pura to Chilli, when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve near Malath village and the vehicle plunged into 200-feet deep gorge, resulting into serious injuries to five persons including driver.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
All the five passengers were evacuated from the gorge and shifted to Community Health Centre (CHC) Gandoh where doctors declared two of them as brought dead.
Two injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Doda and one of the injured was airlifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Tasleem, son of Lassa Zarger of Gandoh and Mohammad Mussa, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Baglie.
The injured have been identified as Taiyab Hussain, son of Lal Hussain of Chilli, Mohammad Rafi, son of Qasim Din of Baglie and Shad Ali, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Bagli.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
