JAMMU, Dec 21: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Kathua and Samba areas while 10 persons were injured after a bus collided with a Mahindra vehicle near Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that one Mohan Lal, son of Shanker Dass, resident of Nanath village was hit by an unknown vehicle on National Highway at Ghagwal this evening. The injured was rushed to Samba hospital where he was declared as dead. The police registered a case for investigation and the body was sent for postmortem.
A report from Kathua said that an Army jawan Krishna Upadhya (62 St Btry) was critically injured after his bike was hit by a car of one Rahul Kumar of Kathua town near Chenab Textiles Mills Kathua last evening. The jawan was shifted to district hospital Kathua in the same car by Rahul and others where doctors provided treatment and then referred him to Army hospital Pathankote. He succumbed to injuries in Pathankote hospital today. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, at least ten persons were injured after a Mahindra vehicle met head on collision with a bus near Dalogra on Jammu-Poonch highway near Rajouri today. All the injured were removed Rajouri hospital where nine of them further referred to GMC hospital Jammu. Nine of them hail from Rajasthan. Driver of the Mahindra vehicle, one Kalu Gujjar from Rajouri area is undergoing treatment in District Hospital, Rajouri.
Those shifted to GMC hospital Jammu were identified as Raju, son of Mangu, Dadu, son of Madhu, S K Pal, son of Devi Lal, Jagdish, son of Balak Ram, Arji, son of Panna, Shanker, Madan, son of Sobu, Pappu, son of Arji and Rajesh, son of Madhu.
