UDHAMPUR, Mar 18: Two persons were injured in a road accident at Shiv Nagar Udhampur while a youth attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his house, here today.
According to the reports, a Bullet motorcycle bearing registration number JK14E-7050 hit a pedestrian at Shiv Nagar Udhampur resulting into injuries to the pedestrian as well as the motorcyclist. Locals shifted both of them to District Hospital Udhampur.
The injured pedestrian was identified as Sadiq Mohamed (50), son of Channi resident of Chack while identity of the motorcyclist was revealed as Pankaj Kumar (20), son of Joginder Sharma of Malhar.
Meanwhile, one Rakesh Kumar (19), son of Yesh Paul of Udhampur, consumed some poisonous substance at his house. Family members took him to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his serious condition.
Cause of provocation could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
