2 injured in firing incident

POONCH, Mar 23: Two persons sustained bullet injuries in firing incident during a meeting to resolve family dispute in Surankote area of Poonch district, this evening
Reports said that the incident took place at Hari Mohalla Iqbal Nagar Surankote during a meeting to resolve family dispute between husband and wife in the house of an advocate.
During the course of meeting, the advocate namely Matloob Qureshi, son of Mohammad Ali, resident of Daraba, Surankote (at present Jammu) fired two rounds with a pistol resulting in injuries to two persons.
Identifying the injured persons as Mushtaq Ahmed son of Alam Deen, resident of Nakamanjhari, Mendhar and Wahied Anjum, son of Araf Hussain, resident of Daraba, Surankote, a Police official said that one among the duo has sustained serious injuries in his right ankle.
Both of them were rushed to SDH Surankote for treatment.
According to DySP Surankote Tanveer Geelani, the accused person has been arrested while the weapon of offence (pistol) was also seized by police. A case has been registered in this regard for further proceedings.
