2 held for illegally selling Govt ration, 4 vehicles seized

JAMMU, Aug 22: In a major success, RS Pura police today arrested two persons including a ration dealer for illegally selling Government ration and seized 272 bags of flour and rice meant for poor people.
A team of police station RS Pura led by SHO RS Pura Jai Pal Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan arrested Sourabh Gupta son of Ganesh Gupta of Dablear and Krishan Lal son of Bachan Lal of Jinder Milu (RS Pura).
Both were caught red handed while loading and disposing the ration bags which had the stamp mark of PDS on them while as search for one more dealer Rashpal Singh (a resident of Khour) is underway. Some empty bags with CAPD stamp mark were also seized from the scene of crime.
Subsequently, vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02CG-9913, JK02VT-8573 and JK02AV 9885 were seized which were used by these ration dealers to transport and load the ration on their choicest locations.
Meanwhile, a case FIR number 175/2020 U/S 409 IPC and 3/7 EC Act was registered at police station RS Pura and further investigation was going on. According to police sources some more arrests are in offing in near future.
The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Aadil Hamid and under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu Shri Dhar Patil.
