JAMMU : Two girls got washed away while a woman died in house collapse in separate incidents across Jammu region following flash flood in the region.
“Two girls got washed away due to flash flood this morning in Janipur area here,” Simrandeep Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu here said.
The deceased were identified as Meenakshi (9), (a VI grade student of Blue Bird School), and an unidentified girl aged about seven years, both residents of Janipur.
Both the bodies were fished out and kept in mortuary of GMC Jammu, said the DC adding, “relief of Rs four lakh each has been announced under SDRF to families of deceased.”
Meanwhile, one Arshad Begum, wife of Mohammad Munir, resident of village Sawni, Rajouri died in house collapse following heavy rains. (AGENCIES)
