2 drug peddlers arrested with poppy straw

UDHAMPUR, May 30: Police arrested two drug peddlers along with 26 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team laid a naka at Dhar Road and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB10DS-3040.
During checking, police recovered 26 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Parminder Singh, son of Bhag Singh of Shalon, Nawasher, Punjab and Kashmiri Lal, son of Basanta Mal of Gogo, Hoshiyarpur, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 233/18 under Section 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Inspector Sanjeev Gupta and assisted by Incharge Roun Domail Police Post SI Khyatimann Khajuria made the arrest under the supervision of Kulbir Chand Handa, DySP Headquarters Udhampur.
