JAMMU, June 1: RS Pura police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddlers and recovered heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from RS Pura Police Station laid a naka at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk and asked two persons to stop for checking, as they were trying to hide themselves from the cops.
During checking, police recovered 2.3 grams heroin from their possession and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Deepak Gupta alias Monu, son of Vijay Gupta of Ward Number 5 RS Pura and Rahul Gupta alias Attu, son of Raj Kumar of Ward Number 13 RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 71/18 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at RS Pura Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO RS Pura Inspector Bishesh Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Sourabh Prasher, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
