JAMMU, June 1: The decomposed body of an unidentified man was recovered today from Sainik Colony area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the body was spotted by some locals of the area in an open septic tank in a vacant plot in Dilli area of Sainik Colony. He said that on the information of the locals, a police team reached the spot, evicted the body from the tank and shifted it to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for identification/postmortem.
He said that the deceased man is about 40-45 years of age and is wearing only underwear. “In this connection, inquest proceedings have been initiated by concerned police”, he added.
