UDHAMPUR, Oct 6: In different cases, Udhampur Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 24 grams of heroin like narcotic substance from their possession.
Police party of PP Tikri, led by Incharge PP, Abdul Satar and assisted by SHO Rajesh Sharma, apprehended Ajay Sharma son of Kulbushan Sharma, resident of Ward number 04, Gujjru Nagrota Kathua. During his frisking, police recovered 09 grams of heroin like narcotic substance.
The accused was arrested on the spot while a case FIR under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at PS Rehambal.
In another success, same police party from PP Tirki intercepted one more drug peddler, identified as Roofis Hussain son of Iqbal Hussain, resident of Ward number 07, Reasi who was roaming in suspicious manner near Bansa Morh Tikri. 15 grams of contraband heroin like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this connection, another case FIR under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Rehambal.
Worth to mention here that during the current year, Udhampur Police has registered 55 cases against 69 drug peddlers so far while four notorious drug peddlers were detained under PIT NDPS and two others were booked under PSA.
