Arun Malhotra to help in developing Football Academy: JU

JAMMU, Oct 6: Interna-tional footballer and son of soil, Arun Malhotra who was recently appointed a member of Technical Committee of AIFF will help in developing Football Academy in University of Jammu as an Advisor.
It was announced by Director Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba after a detailed discussion with AIFF technical member, Arun Malhotra. He will take technical sessions whenever he visits Jammu.
On the invitation of Jammu University, Arun Malhotra who had represented Indian Football team for more than six years and won Gold in LG Cup held at Vietnam and Silver medal in Afro Asian Games at Hyderabad apart from other international competitions visited University of Jammu.
He is a proud son of soil hailing from Mohalla Paharian, Jammu was also conferred with Sher-e- Kashmir Award by the Government of JK-UT.
He was honoured with a memento as a token of respect by the Director, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba. “For the first time in the history of Jammu, a player who has represented India is now a technical member of All India Football Federation,” said Dr Daud.
During his visit, he interacted with staff members as well as Jammu University Football coach Gagan Kumar. He emphasized that after initial few sessions and training of players of Jammu, Malhotra will help in participating Jammu University football players in all the age groups of Indian League (IL) U-13, U-15 and U-18.
He will also manage in bringing national and international coaches and players to impart skills and training to the players. He will also help in bringing different teams of Academies to JU for build-up matches. “A special emphasis will also be paid for the upliftment of women football players,” Daud said.
Vimal Kishore, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Padam Dev Singh and Jai Bharat were also present during the interaction.
