UDHAMPUR, June 4: Police arrested two drug peddlers along with 10 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, during checking at Jakheni, a team from Udhampur Police Station intercepted a Jammu bound Tavera car.
During checking, police recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of two persons traveling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Javed Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Gani Dar and Sameer Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ashraf, both residents of district Budgam.
A case under FIR Number 241/18 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Inspector Vijay Choudhary and assisted by SgCt Romesh Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Kulbir Handa and Additional SP Udhampur Faisal Qureshi.
