SRINAGAR, July 23: Two persons died while seventeen others were injured in different road accidents in the Valley, police said today.
A police spokesman said that in Bandipora district, a 407 vehicle bearing registration number JK03-2492 turned turtle at Zet Khasi at Gurez resulting in onspot death of two persons and injuries to four persons. All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Dawar where from they were referred to Srinagar Hospital for further treatment, he said, adding, a case has been registered in this regard.
In Baramulla disrict, a Tavera vehicle JK05D-6760 collided with a Maruti car JK05C-9344 near Ganta Mulla at Sheeri, resulting in injuries to four persons, the police spokesman said, adding that all the injured were shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment.
Police said that in Budgam district, an EON vehicle bearing registration number JK04C-2546 coming from Srinagar towards Magam met an accident at Kawoosa resulting in injuries to four persons. “All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Magam, where from all the injured were referred to JVC Hospital, Srinagar for further treatment,” the police spokesman said.
In another incident, he said, a Sumo bearing registration number JK01H-5941 hit and injured a pedestrian Sozeen Jan at Bonizanigam in Beerwah area of Budgam district. “The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment,” police spokesman.
In Kupwara district, a Sumo JK09A-2499 driven by Jehangir Ahmad hit and injured a minor girl Sadia Jan near Iqbal Memorial School at Trehgam area. “The injured was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the police spokesman said.
Police said that in Sopore area of Baramulla district, a Tata vehicle bearing registration number JK05D/1243 driven by Bilal Ahmed Gojri hit and injured a minor child Abrar Hussain Bhat at Tarzoo. “The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment.
A Truck bearing registration number JK03C -9651 hit and injured a pedestrian Gudu Ram of Bihar at Wanpoh in Kugam district. “The injured was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the police spokesman said.
In city’s Pantha Chowk area, a Scooty bearing registration number JK01S-7256 driven by Bashir Ahmad Parray was hit by an unknown Sumo resulting in injuries to the Scooty driver. “The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman added.
