SAMBA, June 6: Two people, including a boy, lost their lives in separate road accidents in Samba, while another person sustained serious injuries. According to reports, a collision occurred between a dumper and a scooty in the border village of Suchetgarh, Samba. Both individuals on the scooty were critically injured. They were rushed to the District Hospital in Samba with the help of locals and the police. Doctors declared one of them as brought dead, while the other-a young man-was referred to AIIMS Vijaypur for advanced treatment after receiving first aid.
The deceased has been identified as Pratyaksh (21), son of Naveen, a resident of Bainglad, Samba, while the injured person has been identified as Abhi Bhagat (20), son of Yashpal, a resident of Sinki Chhapri, Samba. The police have registered a case, seized the dumper and initiated further proceedings. The body of the deceased youth has been kept at the District Hospital, Samba, for post-mortem.
In another incident in the Main Chowk Ghagwal of the district, an elderly man riding a scooty was struck by an unidentified vehicle. He sustained critical injuries and was taken to the Trauma Hospital in Ghagwal, where doctors declared him as brought dead. He had been travelling on the scooty from the direction of Kathua towards Samba. The body has been placed in the mortuary at the District Hospital, Samba, for post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Raghuvir Singh (54), son of Jagir Singh, a resident of Magal, Katra (district Reasi). The police have registered a case regarding this incident and have launched a search for the unidentified vehicle.
