SIRMAUR, Aug 30: A two- day HR conclave ‘Ankuran 2.0’, conducted through online mode with participants from all across the country, concluded here today at IIM Sirmaur.
The conclave was flagged off with an introduction of the theme “Samaharti.” Originating from the ancient language Sanskrit, it means sustainability, and in the modern world, it is a term that holds a tremendous weight in the business concept.
The event was inaugurated yesterday by Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director – IIM Sirmaur, who explained the importance of design thinking and expounded its deliverables. In line with the theme, she asked the participants to think out of the box and bring people together. She pointed out the fact that many times our plans may not concretise, but we must not give up.
“Someone who is well trained in management should be alive and alert in the unknown,” she stressed and encouraged everyone for not getting disappointed with future uncertainties. “We should have confidence in ourselves and move forward by treating challenges as opportunities rather than getting disheartened with them”, she added.
The savant of the first workshop of Ankuran 2.0 was Dr Dinesh Kumar Murugesan, Country Head HR DSM. He started his session with a small introduction on the purpose of Design Thinking. He listed out eight major factors which are the major pillars a business runs on; namely, Resilience, Dynamics, Analytics, Safety, Futuristic, Innovation, Digital, and Risk management. He spoke on how the future business could be. He emphasized that HR should transform themselves from a leader point of view to a partner point of view for business growth. He stated that Design Thinking is a process for creative Problem solving. Later, he also explained in detail the five stages of design thinking which are Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.
Even though the event was conducted in online mode, it was very interactive with a series of questions from the participants followed by a team activity with breakout sessions between teams.
