SAMBA, Mar 12: Acting on the reports that chemist shops are black marketing Sanitizers and masks in the town, SDM Vijaypur, Chander Parkash Kotwal along with a team of officers today raided various chemist shops in the area.
According to reports, SDM raided various chemist shops in town to check black marketing of sanitizers and masks. During the raid two chemist shops Aarti Medical Hall and Chaudhary Medical Hall were sealed by him for black marketing of the masks and sanitizers. Both the chemist shops were selling these items in black at exorbitant rates and many people had made complaints about the same. In order to stop this black marketing, the officers including SDM Vijaypur raided the medical and chemist shops in town in which two shops were sealed on spot. The SDM has also given a stern warning to the chemists to avert this practice otherwise they will be dealt seriously under law.
While talking to media persons, SDM Kotwal said that it will be our constant endeavor that no one is involved in such practice. If any shopkeeper will be found involved in black marketing action will be taken against him.
District Revenue officers, police and officers of Municipal Corporation Vijaypur accompanied the SDM during the raid.
Coronavirus is increasing day by day all over the world and people are using sanitizers, masks etc. as a safety measure. Taking advantage of high demand of these items some shopkeepers were selling these items in black on higher rates.
To maintain check on the same the administration in Vijaypur raided the shops today.
