2 cattle smugglers, 8 bovines killed in accident on NH

RAMBAN, July 23: Two cattle smugglers and 8 bovine animals were killed in accident near Battery Chasma area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per police sources, a Srinagar bound Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14E-4286 carrying 8 bovine animals rolled down into deep gorge near Battery Chasma area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into on the spot death of two cattle smugglers and the bovine animals.

After getting information, police team rushed to the spot, retrieved the bodies of cattle smugglers from the gorge and shifted them to District Hospital Ramban for autopsy.
The deceased were identified as Irshad Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi of Verinag and Manzoor Ahmed, son of Jamal Din of Balli Nallah, District Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 115/2020 under section 279, 337 and 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation has been initiated.
