RAMBAN, Jan 10: Two real brothers lost their lives in a tragic road accident when the truck they were onboard plunged into several hundred feet deep gorge at Battery Chashma area here late last night.

Sources informed that the ill fated truck was driven rashly and negligently and it was bearing registration number JK04E-9110 and was loaded with iron rods.

They further said that the truck was on way from Jammu to Srinagar and it went out of control of the driver and plunged into a deep gorge leaving the two persons onboard dead on the spot.
The rescue operation could not be launched immediately after the accident as it was complete dark and the terrain was sloppy.
Official sources said that this morning the local Police along with SDRF personnel and local volunteers tracked down the deep gorge on the embankment of the Bisleri Nallah and launched a search operation to locate the driver and conductor of the truck.
They said that after several hours of search, two bodies were found in a deep gorge and it took rescuers hours to retrieve both the bodies from the gorge.
The ropes and human chain were created to pull out the bodies from the gorge which were then shifted to District Hospital Ramban for identification.
The deceased were identified as Yasir Imtiyaz and Danish Imtiyaz, both sons of Imtiyaz Ahmed Khan, resident of Chajihama, Tehsil and District Baramulla.
SHO Police Station Ramban, Inspector Vijay Kotwal said the bodies of both the deceased persons were handed over to their legal heirs after post-mortem and other legal formalities.
Police has lodged an FIR with number 6 of 2025 in this regard under Section 281/106 BNS and started investigation.
