2 bovine smuggling bids foiled

RAJOURI, Oct 10: The Police foiled two separate bovine smuggling bids and rescued 17 cattle from the clutches of the smugglers in Rajouri district.
A Police official said that during early morning at around 3 am, police party from Police Station Kalakote headed by SHO, Ameen Chowdhary during patrolling in Khargala area spotted an unknown person taking bovine animals towards Rajouri. The police found that these cattle were being taken illegally for further transportation to Valley. The team rescued five bovine animals. However, the smugglers managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of darkness.
A case in FIR 98/2020 U/S 188IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered in Kalakote Police Station.
Another team of police headed by SHO Thanamandi, Fareed Ahmed during checking at Upper Bridge, Thanamandi intercepted a vehicle JK11C- 1618 and rescued 12 bovine animals.
Driver namely- Arsalan Mustafa, son of Mohammad Qayoom, a resident of Ujhan, Darhal has been arrested and vehicle seized. A case in FIR 193/2020 has been registered in this connection by police.
