2 bootleggers held, 80 pouches of liquor seized

KATRA, Sept 10: Foiling two separate attempts of liquor smuggling to the holy town, Katra Police today seized 80 poly pouches of illicit liquor and also arrested two bootleggers,
A Police team, headed by SHO Katra, Inspector Arvind Samyal, laid a special naka near Dheerti Jhajjar and intercepted the accused, namely Anil Kumar of Kundi, tehsil Charala, district Doda, who was on way towards Katra from Jammu side by foot.
During checking of the accused, 40 Poly pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor were recovered from his possession.   The accused person was arrested and recovered poly pouches of liquor were seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 164/2016 U/S 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC has been registered at Police Station Katra
In another success, police team of P/S Katra recovered 40 more poly pouches, measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor from the possession of one Girdhari Lal of Dheerti, Tehsil Katra,   during the special naka at near Dheerti Jajja. The accused who was on way towards Katra from Udhampur side by foot when he was intercepted. Police arrested the accused and seized the recovered liquor besides registering a case in this connection.
