UDHAMPUR, Oct 10: In different cases, Police today seized 107 pouches of illicit liquor from two bootleggers under the jurisdiction of Udhampur Police Station.
District Special Branch team of Udhampur in association with a team of Police Station Udhampur, carried out checking of one suspicious person namely Parkash of Sajalta Tehsil Chenani and recovered 52 pouches of J&K Excise (Desi Whisky) from his possession.
The accused was transporting these pouches in a polythene bag for illegal sale in his native village Sajalta, Chenani. The bootlegger was arrested on the spot and pouches of J&K Excise liquor were seized.
In another case, a Police Party from Police Post Roun Domail arrested one Bansi Lal of Sateni and recovered 55 pouches of J&K Excise liquor from his possession. He was transporting these pouches for illegal sale in his native village Sateni. Police arrested the accused and seized liquor pouches.
FIRs in both the cases Case have been registered under J&K Excise Act.
