SRINAGAR, July 4: Police has recovered two bodies including the body of a girl who had jumped in river Jehlum last week.
A police spokesman said the body of 22 years old Masarat Jan daughter of Ali Mohammad Bhat of Palpora, Sonwar was fished out from river Jhelum near Noorbagh. She had jumped in the river from Sonawar Foot Bridge last week.
An unidentified male body aged about 55 years was found lying at Samurbugh brick Kiln, Srinagar. The body of deceased has been kept in mortuary at Pantha Chowk Srinagar for identification.
Police has initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of the death.
