KATRA, Apr 24: First two-day National Case Study Conference was inaugurated today in the School of Business, Faculty of Management, here at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra.
Nishi Sharma, vice-president, J&K Bank was the chief guest at the inaugural function of the conference. The case study conference is first of its kind in order to disseminate the information regarding the case study methodology in research and business.
The case study conference is to promote the case study research method amongst the various fields of life and as a corporate and academic learning process.
Dr Saurabh, convener of the conference in his address described that the case study conference is one of its unique concept in this region. He said that this conference will focus on the deliberations upon the requirement of the special acumen for development analysis as well as understanding the practice. Around 22 papers have been selected for presentations from various streams and more than 50 participants have come from all over India.
Prof D Mukhopadhyay, Dean, Faculty of Management said that case study methodology is important to understand the dynamic business world. He said that this conference got resource persons from IIMs and leading institutions of India including SMVDU.
Nishi Sharma, the chief guest in his address stressed upon the necessity of case based analysis for solving real world issues. She said that a school of business has been working upon contemporary issues and is leader in providing the best employable students in this region.
Dr Ashutosh Vashishtha, Director, School of Business presented the welcome address while Dr Jyoti Sharma delivered the vote of thanks.
